Put it in a sealed plastic bag for recycling, or at worst, for disposal in a landfill (not an incinerator). You may check with your town hall, recycling center, or health department for recycling locations. Perhaps an easier solution is that some hardware and home supply stores accept CFLs for recycling. Home Depot and Ikea, for instance, offer recycling nationwide in the U.S.
